As part of a huakaʻi to Moku o Keawe, haumāna from KS Kapālama Kula Waena papa oli me hula performed a mele hula at the Kamehameha ʻEkahi statue in Hilo. This was one of several experiences that further connected these haumāna to the wahi for which the hula and oli they’ve studied for two years were meant to honor.
Kamehameha Schools’ policy is to give preference to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law.
