Kamehameha Schools’ nurturing Hawaiiʻs future ‘Ōiwi leaders

November 28, 2018

Teachers and faculty at Kamehameha Schools Kapālama are committed to making sure every student knows that their voice is important and needs to be heard. Nurturing and lifting those voices is part of the institutions mission to develop future ʻōiwi leaders, giving them Poʻo Kula (head of school) perspective on the voting initiative. Hawaii Now host Kanoe Gibson sat down with Poʻo Kula Taran Chun and student body president Evan Gates to talk more about how the school is encouraging active civic engagement from its students.
