On April 29, 2017, the Maui Arts and Cultural Center (MACC) presented the Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi production of "Hāʻupu", an original Hawaiian language opera that tells the legend of Hina and Kana. Hāʻupu was the third in a series of Hawaiian operas produced by the KS Hawaiʻi campus. The performance at the MACC was the final performance for this touring cast, who also brought the show to Scotland, as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
