This year kumu and haumāna kicked off the 2017 Hālau Kupukupu Summer Innovations Academy by planting kupukupu ferns on the grounds of KS Hawaiʻi to inspire both personal and collective growth over the next 4 weeks.Setting a goal to have a joyful summer of learning that honors a continuum of genealogy, stories, journeys and values of this place, haumāna worked together, conveying only positive thoughts, words and actions as they planted each kupukupu into the āina.As our our haumāna take on the roles of 21st century kanaka scientists and engineers, we canʻt wait to see what new ideas and solutions will blossom and grow as they explore challenges that affect our ʻāina, lāhui and world!
