The Kamehameha employee ‘ohana in West Hawai‘i were joined by state and county representatives, community dignitaries including kūpuna, and notable families of the area to formally celebrate the consolidation of our various KS offices with a blessing of a new kauhale (a cluster of houses in one location) situated at the Keauhou Shopping Center.
Under a new strategic initiative for West Hawai‘i, all KS services and programs have moved to a centralized location to provide a more streamlined process to serve the kaiāulu (community) of West Hawai‘i.
The office space houses staffers from KS' Community-Based Early Childhood Education, Extension Education, Neighbor Island Resource Center, and Land Assets groups. KS photographer Michael Young captured the community event in the photos below.
If your division or campus has pics to share, please send them along with background information and captions to Michael Young at miyoung@ksbe.edu.
