Overcast skies and chilly weather couldn’t stop thousands of KS supporters from attending this year’s Kamehameha Schools Kapālama Ho‘olaule‘a! The day was filled with fabulous entertainment, ‘ono grinds, cultural demonstrations, fun rides and games for the keiki. The annual event is sponsored by the KS Association of Teachers and Parents and valuable support is provided by the KS Parent/Alumni Relations Department. The funds raised by Ho‘olaule‘a support student enrichment grants which pay for activities such as student travel and supplies for student clubs. Mahalo to the thousands of volunteers who worked at Ho‘olaule‘a this year. This is the only activity that brings together the entire Kapālama campus ‘ohana from the K-12 students, families, staff, alumni and members of the community.
Kamehameha Schools’ policy is to give preference to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law.
