Hundreds of Hawaiʻi students spent spring break learning about their Hawaiian culture through the Kamehameha Schools Ipukukui program.
Ipukukui is for students not enrolled at a KS campus but who are enrolled in KS’ Explorations Series Program. The week-long, statewide, regional program focuses on the waiwai (value, richness) of each home district.
Photographer Michael Young followed the Koʻolau Oʻahu group of high school students as they learned how to make oʻo sticks.
