Kamehameha Schools and Stanford Carr Development announced an innovative new community coming to Our Kakaʻako at a press conference held on Friday, July 26 at KS’ Kakaʻako Info Center.
Located on the block bound by South, Halekauwila, Keawe and Pohukaina streets, also known as “Block A” of the KS Our Kaka‘ako master plan, the project – Keauhou Lane – will feature rental options and retail spaces designed for the local market. An estimated at 40 percent of the housing units will be reserved for middle-income workers and there are even plans for a neighborhood grocery.
Literally meaning a “new era,” the name harkens back to Keauhou Lane, a historical private lane that once ran through the property. And with Our Kakaʻako well into its transformation, Keauhou Lane will provide residents with additional businesses and shopping options creating a progressive and vibrant urban-island neighborhood.
