Thirty-five members of the KS Kapālama Food and Nutrition Services staff have earned their five-year certification (or re-certification) in the National Hotel and Restaurant Association’s ServSafe food safety program.
The newly certified staff members include managers, cooks, pantry workers, bakers, inventory control personnel, and kitchen utility workers. Currently, 25 out of 31 Akahi Dining Hall employees are food safety-certified and 10 out of 10 at Kalama Dining Hall.
In addition to feeding 3,100 children daily during the school week, the team prepares meals and refreshments for breakfast, lunch, and evening events. Read more about the the KSK Food and Nutrition Services Department in the KSOnline Story section.
