KS team volunteers at Our Kakaʻako Earth Day Clean-Up

April 29, 2021

KS staffers were among the 170 community members who dedicated last Saturday to the Mālama ʻĀina Earth Day Community Clean-Up in Our Kaka‘ako. Adults, students and keiki celebrated Earth Day by helping to pick up ʻōpala from the nine-block mauka neighborhood of Our Kakaʻako and Mother Waldron Park. The event was held in partnership with the nonprofit Surfrider Foundation. “We are committed to being responsible stewards of the ʻāina and doing our part to protect it for future generations,” said Serge Krivatsy, Kamehameha Schools Commercial Real Estate director of planning and development. “We are please to partner with the Surfrider Foundation and provide the community with this opportunity to come together and care for our environment in a safe manner.” The day ended with 228 pounds of trash collected. All volunteers received a grab n’ go snack bag and mahalo makana for their participation. Visit ourkakaako.com for more information.
