The Kūhiō Day Parade, led by KS preschools in Waiʻanae, highlighted community spirit as families celebrated Hawaiian heritage. The ʻOhana Committee, initiated by nā hope poʻo kumu Kaila Lui-Kwan and Jeannette Sunn, empowers parents to engage in their children’s education. With 320 keiki from four sites, the committee’s vision was brought to life in the parade, reinforcing cultural respect and leadership. This collaboration between families and staff highlights the importance of parental involvement and the enduring legacy of Prince Kūhiō for Hawai’i’s future.
