Over 240 members of the KS Maui employee ʻohana returned to school on July 30 and celebrated the dedicated service of their colleagues at the campus’ 9th Annual Service Awards ceremony.
The event was themed Ka ʻUmeke Naʻauao O Paiʻea – Paiʻea’s Calabash of Wisdom. Paiʻea is the birth name of the schools’ namesake, Kamehameha the Great.
Among this year’s 51 awardees, 20 of them celebrated five years of service, 30 staffers celebrated 10 years of service, and one staffer celebrated a combined 20 years of service as a kumu at both KS Kapālama and KS Maui. Each awardee received a lei and was recognized on stage.
