KS Kapālama Student Support Center mural

February 20, 2013

Many hands helped create a meaningful mural at the Kamehameha Schools Kapālama Student Support Center. Local artist and KS alumnus Solomon Enos and high school art teacher Carl Pao guided students and teachers in the painting of the mural.

The art piece depicts a he‘e (octopus), with its eight tentacles spreading throughout the center, the ink coming from the he‘e, the ocean and rays of sunlight beaming into the ocean. The project started in late November and took about two months to complete. Campus kahu Kordell Kekoa presided over a blessing and dedication of the mural on Monday, February 11.

Photos by KS photographer Michael Young. If your division or campus has photos to share, please send them along with background information and captions to miyoung@ksbe.edu.
