KS Kapālama Ho‘olaule‘a

February 25, 2013

Days of constant rain and high winds stopped just in time for the Kamehameha Schools Kapālama 83rd annual Ho‘olaule‘a, a fund-raiser for the KS Association of Teachers and Parents (ATP). Student groups and professional musicians played Hawaiian music all day while folks lined up to get delectable food inlcuding the popular Hawaiian plate, piping hot malasadas, and sweets from the Sweet Shoppe. Many made a beeline to the Country Store where Kamehameha's famous signature brownies and packaged mix were on sale.  Teens and kids had a blast at the games and rides in the Ka‘ahumanu parking lot.

Over 13,000 people attend the event held at the high school's Konia field. Proceeds go toward enrichment grants to fund out-of-classroom activities for Kapālama students.  Each year, the ATP designates $50,000 of funds to the high school, and $25,000 in funds to both the middle and elementary schools.
