Kona coffee is king at Cream of the Crop event

April 29, 2016

Hundreds of coffee lovers sipped their way through the recent Kona Coffee Council Cream of Crop event which showcased the quality and taste of Kona coffee and gave attendees an opportunity to meet more than 20 Kona coffee growers.

With nearly 70 percent of Hawaiʻi’s coffee grown on Kamehameha Schools land, KS is a strong supporter of the Kona coffee industry. The event included a coffee cupping competition, and KS tenants Wailele Estates Kona Coffee, Island Sun Coffee and Kona Coffee & Tea were among the winners.

Farmers provided sample cups of their brewed coffee along with education about coffee growing and processing. In addition, the educational booths promoted the strengths of the Kona coffee experience and help to further the growth of the industry.  Mahalo to the Kona Coffee Council for sharing these photos!
