The Kamehameha Schools Ho‘okahua Cultural Vibrancy Division led the KS ʻohana in celebrating the first anniversary of the Ka‘iwakīloumoku Hawaiian Cultural Center during the week of September 23. The festivities included an anniversary gathering, a kanikapila sing-along and a Hoʻokahua meet and greet event.
In its first year, Ka‘iwakīloumoku experienced rapid growth in both its physical infrastructure and educational programming. This expansion will create more opportunities for cultural engagement and support the center’s mission to cultivate the next generation of Hawaiian leaders.
KS photographers Michael Young and Nadine Lagaso were on hand to capture the events in photos. If your division or campus has pics to share, please send them along with background information and captions to miyoung@ksbe.edu.
