KS' Information Technology Division (ITD) recently hosted the "HOWZIT: KP Technology Showcase 2014" for Kawaiahaʻo Plaza staffers. The day-long event, orchestrated by the ITD Endowment and Support Services team, showcased what KP colleagues are doing with technology applications in support of the mission of Kamehameha Schools.
About 100 staffers attended 10 breakout sessions on topics including infographics, IT security, website building and land stewardship technology. Keynote speakers included KS Kapālama poʻo kula Earl Kim, who spoke on "Connecting Campus to KP" and Information Security Office consultant Ryan Talabis, who spoke on "Emerging Risks."
“The best thing about the Tech Slam is sharing, seeing and hearing about technology here at KP," says IT program director Brenda Schulze. “It’s also a great chance to just get together with coworkers and continue to build our relationships.”
Read a first-hand account of the event by Community Relations and Communications digital innovation manager Andreas Arvman in the KSOnline story, “ITD hosts technology showcase for KP staffers.”
