In pictures: Mālama ʻĀina Community Cleanup in Our Kakaʻako

More than 180 volunteers collected 455 pounds of ʻopala at the Mālama ʻĀina Community Cleanup hosted by Our Kakaʻako. The event coincided with Earth Month. The volunteers included dozens of Kamehameha Schools Kapālama residential life haumāna. Before fanning across Kakaʻako to track down rubbish, volunteers received a safety briefing at the Barn at SALT. Kamehameha Schools Partners included Kaiāulu ʻo Kakaʻako Owners Association, Surfrider Foundation, One Waterfront Plaza and Bottles4College. A similar event happens on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22nd, at Kapālama Kai.
