Scholar Speaker Series - September 2014

September 25, 2014

The Huliko‘a Kaiāulu scholar speaker series returned on September 16 at the Community Learning Center at Nānākuli. Scholars Kamuela Werner and Alika Maunakea, Ph.D. shared their research and mana‘o on the topic of Native Hawaiian health.

Hulikoʻa Kaiāulu – Explorations of the Kaiāulu breeze – gives Wai‘anae Coast ‘ohana the opportunity to embrace higher education and celebrate examples of advanced learning in the community. The speaker series was developed through a partnership between Kamehameha Schools, the UH Hawai‘inuiākea School of Hawaiian Knowledge, and MA‘O Organic Farms.

The next presentation in the series will feature scholars Sophia Carba from Nānākuli and Michael Alves from Wai‘anae. See more information on the Community Learning Center at Nānākuli website.
