Hoʻolauleʻa makes triumphant return to Kapālama campus

February 28, 2023

The in-person Hoʻolauleʻa experience returned in a big way to Konia Field at the Kapālama campus! Sunny skies and cool makani greeted everyone who took part in the day of mele, hula, mea ʻai, and leʻaleʻa. This year’s theme: I ka wanaʻao, means “to dawn, the first light of dawn”. It refers to new beginnings as we start to emerge from the shared struggles created by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is the single largest fundraiser for the Kamehameha Schools Kapālama Association of Teachers and Parents. Proceeds go towards various student enrichment grants, scholarships, teacher appreciation activations, ʻohana engagement, and more. Mahalo to all who volunteered their time and talents to make this event a rousing success!

Enjoy these snapshots of the day’s festivities.
