Culture, the sharing of manaʻo, community engagement and entrepreneurship were alive and well recently in Our Kakaʻako as the Kaiāulu ‘o Kaka‘ako Owners Association hosted a series of four intimate workshops in which participants learned how to make traditional crafts under the direction of local Native Hawaiian artisans. The Hawaiian Crafts Workshop & Sale, which took place in Decemebr at The Barn at SALT, included demonstrations of kapa making by Dalani Tanahy, ʻohe kāpala (carved stamps for kapa) by Nalu Andrade, lauhala bracelet weaving by Mahina and Cheryl Pukahi, and cord braiding by ‘Umi Kai
