The Kamehameha Schools ʻohana recently celebrated the second anniversary of the Ka‘iwakīloumoku Hawaiian Cultural Center at KS Kapālama. The KS Ho‘okahua Cultural Vibrancy Group hosted the pāʻina which included mele, hula and mea ‘ai.
Ka‘iwakīloumoku is an intergenerational community gathering place dedicated to the KS cultural philosophy, Nohona Hawai‘i – Hawaiian living and learning.
The Ho‘okahua Cultural Vibrancy Group cultivates Nohona Hawaiʻi by providing cultural professional development opportunities, culture and language support for employees, and intergenerational cultural enrichment for families, alumni, and the greater Hawaiian community.
