Kamehameha Schools broke ground today for its Haleʻiwa Store Lots commercial center, along with representatives from Allied Builders System, the project's general contractor. The locally owned company will oversee the construction of the 27,000-square-foot commercial center anchored by Matsumoto Shave Ice and Whaler’s General Store.
Construction will start this month and last through August 2014, merging old and new to create a lively plantation gathering place in Haleʻiwa. Nearly 100 construction jobs will be created to bring to life the design of architect, Group 70 International, Inc.
KS photographer Michael Young was on hand to capture the highlights of the event. To read more about the groundbreaking, see the KSOnline story.
