The recent grand opening of Hale‘iwa Store Lots marked a key milestone for Kamehameha Schools. Identified as a key catalyst project in KS’ 2008 North Shore Plan, the plantation-inspired, open-air community revitalization project provides an economic boost to the Hale‘iwa community and like all KS commercial projects, its income supports the trust’s educational mission. The event gave KS the opportunity to mahalo the many people who provided input for the project, including community leaders, longtime North Shore residents, and area kūpuna. Also attending the celebration were KS staffers, and the project's contractors.
