Kamehameha Schools offers hands-on summer enrichment programs to challenge the minds of even the most inquisitive keiki!
The Ho‘omāka‘ika‘i program is a week-long boarding program aimed at non-KS elementary school students. It helps soon-to-be sixth graders gain 21st century skills by engaging them in them in ʻāina-based cultural learning activities and huaka‘i.
Staff photographer Michael Young recently tagged along with one of the Ho‘omāka‘ika‘i groups on O‘ahu as they explored Honolulu’s historic district around ‘Iolani Palace and Ali‘iolani Hale – the state judiciary building.
If your division or campus has pics to share, please send them along with background information and captions to Michael Young at miyoung@ksbe.edu.
