Around KS – Vistors from China

February 19, 2014

Chinese students and staff from RDFZ Xishan School in Beijing, China recently visited Kamehameha Schools Kapālama as part of the students’ Performing Arts Tour of the United States. The group visited the campus high school, middle school and elementary school over two days and stayed overnight in Keōpūolani Dorm.

The special cultural exchange between the two schools was made possible through the efforts of KS senior instructional technology specialist Alan Tamyose and his colleagues in the Educational Technology Department.

Tamayose first met teachers from the RDFZ Xishan School at a cohort at the Punahou Lab School. He was then invited to an international summit in Beijing and asked to orchestrate the visit to KS Kapālama.

KS photographer Michael Young captured the cultural exchange in the photos below. If your division or campus has pics to share, please send them along with background information and captions to ksonline@ksbe.edu.
