On September 2 at Iolani Palace KS Kapalama middle school hula students helped to open the Onipa'a celebration of Queen Liliuokalani's birth.
Many Hawaiian organizations came together to entertain and share information with the community.
History comes alive in Mai Poina. Actors tell the story of the overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy in 1893 from the point of view of diverse citizens.
The living history tour at Iolani Palace continues on September 7,8 and 9 starting at 5 pm.
Work continues on the KS Aloha Festivals float in a Kakaako warehouse. The parade is in Waikiki on September 22.
KS artist Robin Racoma paints one of the many art elements that will be added to the float.
Docent Ruby Lowe welcomes students to the Heritage Center on the Kapalama Campus.
The Heritage Center is decorated to resemble Princess Pauahi's home and contains many of her possessions.
