Program Support Director Mark Ellis demonstrates to Ipukukui students how to throw a fishing net. Ipukukui is a week-long Hawaiian culture day program that took place last week during the October DOE intercession break.

Ipukukui programs are regional and focus on the home districts of the students. Honolulu district students spent a day at Sand Island learning how to fish, make 'ulu maika and play Hawaiian games.

KSK middle school held 'Back to School Day' recently and brought parents to school for a day to experience what their children do in class. Seventh grader Chloe Cravalho and mom, Puanani, work on a science experiment together.

Social studies teacher Brad Cooper helped students and parents work through a mapping exercise.

Apartments at 680 Ala Moana are still in the construction phase but the key attraction for this building is location, location, location! It's situated close to town, Ala Moana Center and the beaches.

Once the apartments are finished and ready for renters to move in they can be furnished in style like this model unit on the fourth floor.
