KS Hawai‘i High School service day

April 11, 2013

Over 560 Kamehameha Schools Hawai‘i high schoolers dedicated a day to service learning recently, performing projects to improve and beautify their Kea‘au campus.  The activities will help fulfill the students’ service learning graduation requirement.

Hats off to KSH career liaison Keola Maa Hewitt who with the support of principal Lehua Veincent coordinated the event. Mahalo to the campus academy leads who helped make it happen: Kalehua Simeona, Pua Kalaniopio, Hanakahi Perreira, Kawika Rose, Jeff Canion, Roy Alameida and Layne Richards.

Thank you also to Hawaiian culture kumu Keali‘i Akina, director of Operations Peter Fuchs and his staff members for helping students beautify the campus with a māla (garden).

Mahalo to Headmaster's Office senior administrative assistant Carol Martin for sharing these photos with KSOnline! If your division or campus has pics to share, please send them along with background information and captions to KS photographer Michael Young at miyoung@ksbe.edu.
