With over 25 alumni veterans in attendance, Kamehameha Schools’ Alumni Relations office held its annual Veterans Day breakfast at the Kapālama campus’ Pauahi Administration Building on Nov. 8.
In addition to connecting with other alumni veterans, the group of service men and women shared breakfast and conversation with student leaders from the Association Students of Kamehameha Schools (ASKS). The breakfast included updates from Po‘o Kula Dr. Taran Chun KSK’95 and new Director of Alumni Relations Pono Ma‘a KSK’82.
Also, the group was treated to an impromptu reflection from former KS trustee and retired Vice Admiral Robert Kihune KSK’55, who talked about how his experience as a student at KS helped him succeed in his military career. After the morning activities, a handful of the veterans took part in panel discussions at Midkiff Learning Center with students interested in pursuing a military career.
Mahalo piha to the brave members of our Kamehameha Schools ‘ohana who have selflessly served our country, keeping us safe and defending our freedom! May Ke Akua continue to bless and protect you now and in the years to come.
The event is just one of many activities from the Alumni Relations office to help reconnect alumni with KS and haumāna. To learn about upcoming alumni events or volunteer opportunities, please contact Alumni Relations Associate Director Dancine Takahashi at datakaha@ksbe.edu or (808) 534-3966.
