Kamehameha Schools converted the 680 Ala Moana office building into a residential rental apartment building that will help change Kakaako into the hip, urban community that is envisioned for the neighborhood. A blessing, reception, and open house was held on Nov. 15 to welcome new residents and entice prospective renters. Local style pupus, drinks and jazzy live music in a lounge like atmosphere was preceded by a formal blessing by KS Kahu Kordell Kekoa. Guests were free to roam the building and visit the model unit which was decorated by designer Cathy Lee.
