Kamehameha Schools Kapālama students and faculty members from elementary to high school celebrated the new school year with mele and hula at the campus’ annual convocation at Kekūhaupiʻo Gym.
Head of School Earl Kim, addressed the event attendees and made a simple request: Pay it forward. Remember Princess Pauahi and how she gave generously to others and think of helping others without expecting anything in return.
The convocation culminated with the annual torch relay. Attendees cheered as students from the upper grades passed the torch down to their younger siblings until the kindergarten students carried the torch across the finish line.
KS photographer Michael Young captured the event in the photos below. If your division or campus has pics to share, please send them along with background information and captions to ksonline@ksbe.edu.
