SALT at Our Kakaʻako Stores Reopen as part of the Re-emergence of Hawai‘i Retail Industry

KAKA‘AKO, HI — (May 15, 2020) SALT at Our Kaka‘ako is proud to be part of the re-emergence of the shopping and retail community in Hawai‘i, as allowed by the state and local government. SALT has remained open, with tenants who provided essential services safely serving the public, following official guidelines. With more retail businesses now being allowed to operate, several SALT stores are anticipated to reopen shortly.

Stores are scheduled to reopen today and are listed at www.saltatkakaako.com. The website will be updated as more of the SALT ‘ohana choose to return, based on state and county guidelines. Individual store hours and policies may vary. Other retailers may choose to open at later dates. For more information about SALT tenant’s hours of operation and services, please see its website.

“At SALT, we value the safety of the Our Kaka‘ako neighborhood and our guests,” said Dixie Diga, General Manager of SALT at Our Kaka‘ako. “We ask guests to wear face masks, avoid large groupings and be healthy before they visit.”

For the safety of all, at risk community members, such as kūpuna or those sick, recently ill or exposed to anyone ill should continue to stay at home as needed, in the effort to flatten the curve.

SALT follows the CDC and state Department of Health protocols and will continue to apply industry best practices to ensure health and safety standards, such as regular cleaning and disinfecting and safety signage to help with social distancing.

SALT at Our Kaka‘ako followed the stay-at-home and work-from-home government orders. Some tenants voluntarily closed during the stay-at-home mandate while other essential businesses remained open, as allowed.

“SALT will continue to operate with health and safety as its top priority. We’re excited that more of our tenants will be able to reopen and retail businesses will re-emerge, as it brings us closer to a new normalcy,” Diga said. “We want to thank the community for their patience and understanding, as we welcome back our retail ‘ohana.”
