SALT at Our Kaka‘ako hosts a special Hawai‘i Symphony Orchestra Pop-Up Concert, at The Barn, on Thursday, Dec. 16, at 6 p.m. The symphony’s return to the Arts District of Our Kaka‘ako for the free holiday concert proved popular. Seats were promptly filled after limited reservations were made available on a first come, first served basis to SALT at Our Kaka‘ako and Our Kaka‘ako communities, underscoring the demand for live performance.
“SALT at Our Kaka‘ako is where the arts and our community come together. We are honored to have the Hawai‘i Symphony Orchestra sharing uplifting music during the holiday season, and we look forward to concert attendees making it a night on the town, also enjoying dinner and shopping at SALT,” said Dixie Diga, General Manager of SALT at Our Kakaʻako.
All current COVID-19 related restrictions will be followed at the open-air venue, including proof of vaccination. Attendees are asked to wear a mask at all times at the event.
“Our Kaka‘ako has always embraced music and arts. “It has been a challenging year. We went 439 nights without a live audience. But now we are taking the orchestra out of the traditional concert hall and rebuilding our community through music and art,” said Dave Moss, Executive Director of the Hawai‘i Symphony Orchestra. “We were attracted to Our Kaka‘ako’s vibrancy — its stores, the restaurants and community. We are happy to perform in a place known for arts and culture.”

SALT at Our Kaka‘ako is open daily, with enhanced safeguards and following county and state guidelines. While the center does not mandate masks be worn when outside tenant spaces, each business may require a different level of safety precautions and a face mask must be worn when entering into and walking around inside retail stores, restaurants and business locations. Select businesses must require customers provide proof that they are fully vaccinated or show proof of a negative COVID-19 test result within 48 hours of entry. Together, we continue the task of keeping our community safe.
