“Kaʻākaukukui in Hawaiian means ‘north light,’ and it is the historical name for the Kaka‘ako region,” said Serge Krivatsy, Kamehameha Schools commercial real estate director of planning and development. “People living in this former fishing village community used kukui nuts as torches to help guide travelers along the shore. In this spirit, we want to provide the community with an opportunity to see the light and be the light for others this holiday season and throughout the new year.”
The lighted words and holiday postcards will be available for 10 days through December 20, 2021. For more information, visit www.ourkakaako.com/belight.
