Celebrate the Lunar New Year at Keawe Retail at Our Kakaʻako with a Traditional Lion Dance

Ring in the Year of the Rabbit at Keawe Retail at Our Kaka‘ako on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. Lunar New Year festivities will include a traditional Chinese Lion dance by the Asian Lion Dance Team. This family-friendly event is open to the public and free to attend.
Bring the whole ‘ohana and enjoy a spectacular Chinese lion dance demonstration by the Asian Lion Dance Team, which entertained Hawai‘i residents since 1994. Watch as the colorful lions dance their way around the center, blessing Keawe Retail at Our Kaka‘ako shops and eateries. Throughout the event, the lions will be fed donations in red envelopes known as lai see (lucky money), believed to bring prosperity and good fortune to those throughout the year who donate.
When: Saturday, January 21, 2023, 12:30 p.m.
Where: Keawe Retail at Our Kaka‘ako, 400 Keawe Street.
Attendees of the Lunar New Year Celebration are encouraged to come early and visit Keawe Retail’s unique collection of retailer shops, eateries, and businesses. Visitors are welcome to park at The Flats at Pu‘unui at 440 Keawe Street. The entrance is located on Pohukaina Street.
