“Bark in the Park” Event Returns With Pet Workouts, Arts & Crafts, Pop-Up Market & Yappy Hour

Our Kaka‘ako is kicking off the new year by bringing back Bark in the Park, a free, family-friendly outdoor event for people and their pets on Saturday, January 28, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Kaloko‘eli Courtyard in Keawe Retail, located at 444 Keawe St. in front of H Mart. The event’s signature pet workout classes, pop-up market, restaurant specials and photo op wall will return, along with a new Paw Paint ’n’ Take art activity.

“We’re excited to host Bark in the Park again and invite the entire community, both pets and their owners, to enjoy Our Kaka‘ako’s walkable, open-air spaces, shop for local pet products, check out the Yappy Hour deals throughout the neighborhood, and have a healthy, active start to 2023,” said Melanie Hao, Kamehameha Schools director of planning and development. “Pets are a big part of what makes Our Kaka‘ako unique and are welcomed at events, residences, restaurants, and businesses.”

This is the third time that Our Kaka‘ako is hosting Bark in the Park, and this signature event will feature many activities and highlights, including:

*Orangetheory Fitness Kaka‘ako pet workout classes, where participants and their dogs can navigate an obstacle course together. Reserve a spot online at www.ourkakaako.com/barkinthepark.

*A new Paw Paint ’n’ Take station provided by My Treehouse Club, where pups and keiki can use paint and paper to create hand and paw print art keepsakes.

*A pet product pop-up market featuring local vendors.

*Prize giveaways with Ali‘i Animal Hospital and Resort for veterinary services and doggie daycare. Their staff will also provide pet wellness tips and resources.

*Yappy Hour specials at Our Kaka‘ako restaurants and bars.

*Live music and a photo op wall.
