KS Kapālama’s head football coach Doug Cosbie resigns

Head Football Coach and Athletic Relations Associate, Doug Cosbie will be resigning from Kamehameha Schools Kapālama (KSK) citing family reasons, Athletic Director Glennie Adams announced today.

“It has been a privilege and blessing to have worked and coached at Kamehameha Schools,” said Cosbie. “We will greatly miss the people we worked with and friendships we have formed over the last three years.”

Cosbie joined KSK in 2013 with an extensive background in athletics, playing for the Dallas Cowboys for 10 years under legendary coach Tom Landry, repeat appearances in Pro Bowls 1983-85 and having played for Santa Clara University.

“Coach Cosbie is a ‘champion of young men,’” said Adams. “He emphasizes not only the quality of our young mens’ play, but more importantly the quality of their character.”

According to Adams, Cosbie reached out to many students from all different sports through his involvement with Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

“Coach Cosbie has been a valued member of our Athletic Administrative Team and the Athletic Department staff,” added Adams. “We are wishing him and his entire family countless blessings.”

Cosbie’s last day is Jan. 14, 2016. The search for his replacement will begin immediately.
