Former NYU Executive Vice President for Operations has been hired as the Operations Director at KS Kapālama in her return to Hawai‘i.
Alison Leary has been named as the Operations Director at Kamehameha Schools Kapālama, Po‘o Kula Earl Kim announced.
Leary comes with a wealth of experience as the Executive Vice President for Operations at New York University, where she was credited for improved environmental stewardship and sustainability, improved service quality, transformed service processes and decreased costs.
Prior to her time at NYU, Leary was also a vice president at JP Morgan Chase and spent over 12 years, including almost 10 in Hawai̒i, with GTE Hawaiian Telcom. She has won numerous awards during her career, including winning the Hawai̒i Governor’s Energy Award twice, the GTE Hawaiian Tel President’s Leadership Silver and Gold awards, the Boy Scouts of America Distinguished Woman of the Year and recently earned NYU a STARS Gold Rating and Power Plant of the Year.
In her new role as Operations Director at KSK, Leary will oversee the dining services, physical plant, recreational facilities, security and transportation departments. She’ll also oversee the safety and compliance, operations analysis and administrative support functions for the KSK Operations Support Division, while monitoring all construction projects on campus, requests for all division services and coordination of the development of the consolidated major repair and capital improvement projects budget and the facilities master plan for the campus.
Leary is a graduate of the University of Hawai̒i at Mānoa, and is currently a master’s degree candidate at New York University. She will begin her new position at Kamehameha Schools on February 29.
