Mahalo for being part of the Kapili ‘Oihana (KO) ‘ohana. Whether you’re currently interning or have participated in the past, your journey has helped shape a program committed to cultivating the next generation of ‘ōiwi leaders.
As part of a broader effort to strengthen our impact, KO internships will pause for Fall 2025, and we are currently assessing availability for Spring 2026. This decision is part of a thoughtful redesign process that aligns with KS Kaiāulu’s College & Career outcomes and the E Ola! learner outcomes that guide our shared kuleana.
This pause allows us to reimagine Kapili ‘Oihana—ensuring it continues to be relevant, innovative, and deeply supportive of Native Hawaiian haumāna as they navigate college, career, and community.
We understand this transition may raise questions, and we’re here for you. Please reach out to your Industry Liaison or connect with us directly:
‘Awapuhimele Hamakua-Napoleon, KO Project Manager at awnapole@ksbe.edu or contact kapili@ksbe.edu.
We mahalo you for your support and patience as we build the future of Kapili ‘Oihana—together.
Kāpili ‘Oihana (KO) provides year-round opportunities across the state of Hawai‘i. Our aim is to give Native Hawaiian students the chance to engage with professionals in their fields of interest, offering positions in diverse career fields.
KO is designed to foster and maintain relationships with host sites committed to providing college students enriched career experiences and valuable professional networking opportunities for their future success.
