Kapili ‘Oihana program update 04/06/2026

Kamehameha Schools Kaiāulu has made the decision to sunset the Kāpili ʻOihana program following its previously announced pause and redesign period. This shift reflects our broader move toward an ecosystem approach, where we serve as a conduit leveraging existing community partners and their internships and learning opportunities, to strengthen pathways, apprenticeships, credentialed learning, and post‑secondary supports that prepare ʻŌiwi leaders for thriving futures.

We extend our sincere mahalo to the students, educators, employers, and community partners who contributed to Kāpili ʻOihana over the years. Your commitment created meaningful opportunities for haumāna across Hawaiʻi.

As part of Kamehameha Schools’ Strategic Plan 2030, Kamehameha Schools Kaiāulu is preparing a redesigned portfolio of community education grants and scholarships that will support post‑secondary success and ʻŌiwi leadership. In the near future, we will launch a centralized online space that will help highlight internship, certification, and credential opportunities offered through our portfolio partnerships.

Mahalo for your continued support as we transition into this next chapter.
