Kanoelani Pu‘uohau

Planning and Development Manager II

Kanoelani Pu‘uohau is responsible for ensuring alignment, integration and implementation of Kamehameha Schools’ strategic goals, sustainability framework and ‘Āina Values across the Commercial Real Estate Division’s (CRED) market area, master and project plans. Other responsibilities include ensuring alignment with KS’ commitment to Hawaiian culture and ‘āina stewardship; advocating for education opportunities, sustainability, and community needs; and increasing multiple bottom line returns through the entitlements, community engagement and portfolio management processes.

Prior to joining the CRED ‘ohana, Kanoe worked in KS’ Community Engagement and Resources Group, where she was responsible for managing priority projects for the Senior Director of Hawaiʻi Island.

Her work history includes time with the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo (UHH) as a lecturer in Business law, the Hawai‘i Small Business Development Center as a Senior Business Advisor, and the Energy Excelerator (now Elemental Execelerator) managing Operations. 

A KS Kapālama alumnus, Kanoe has a B.A. in Marine Science from UHH, Juris Doctorate with a focus in Native Hawaiian and Environmental Law from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (UHM) William S. Richardson School of Law, and a M.B.A. from UHM’s Shidler College of Business. Kanoe is a board member of Hui ʻOihana, Hawaiʻi Island Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce.

Born and raised in Hilo, Kanoe enjoys traveling, mountain biking, and hula.
