Welcome Back Haumāna!

Aug. 7, 2017

Welcome back haumāna (students)!

School is in full swing as students are quickly getting back into the daily routine. This was shown when they greeted the day with the morning oli (chant). No slack was given from the kumu who made corrections to the oli. Expectations are set high from the start, which sets the tone for the rest of the year. Throughout the day students attended their classes learning protocols and procedures. A new bell system has been implemented to let them know when class is over, and the next one is beginning so they can arrive in a timely manner. Lunch was also served and the day concluded after students convened in the gym for convocation, a greeting from the Po‘okula and MS principals, and a "Top Kumu" video, an educational twist to Top Gun to help familiarize the students with teachers and staff. The day was a success and students left with smiling faces.

It's going to be a great year!
