Watch the 2022 Lā Mei "Hoʻomau" from the Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi campus Kula Haʻahaʻa.

Our theme "Noʻu Ke Kuleana, No Kākou Ka Mana" identity, agency, and well-being has been a guiding manaʻo for our kula. Beyond entertainment, this time honored tradition serves as a hōʻike for haumāna to demonstrate what they've learned throughout the year. 

Nā Lei o Kaiona kicks off the program with oli and four beautiful performances - 

• "Kāwika" na J. Kealoha, performed by Papa 1-2
• "Liliʻu E" na Antone Kaoʻo performed by Papa 3-5
• "Kuʻu Pāpale Lauhala" na ʻĀina Kekoʻolani Keawe performed by Papa 1-2
• "Maluhia ʻO Keaʻau" na Kahoʻokele Crabbe by Papa 3-5

Following the pre-show by Nā Lei o Kaiona, each grade level will perform in the following order:

• Papa ʻElua - "Mele Koʻihonua/He Lei Kaulana" na Kēhau Tamure me Kuana Torres
• Papa ʻEhā - "Mālama Mau Hawaiʻi" na William Kahaialiʻi
• Papa ʻEkahi - "Eia Iho Ke Aloha/Mele Lei No Pauahi Lani Nui" na Kahoʻokele Crabbe
• Papa ʻEkolu - "E Nā Kini" na Ernest Kala
• Papa Mālaaʻo - "He Lei Nani Nō ʻOe" na Pumehana Silva
• Papa ʻElima - " Kau Ka Peʻa" na Kalani Peʻa/Larry Kimura 

This year's program also features the Mele Haipule "Hoe A Mau" na Rev. Lorenzo "Laiana" Lyons and Mele Hula "E Alu Like" na Haunani Apoliona.
