Wa'a Wednesday: Hōkūle'aʻs Great Lakes journey

On the journey to Canada, the Hōkūleʻa will pass through 52 locks, a complex waterway system used for raising and lowering watercraft between bodies of water of different levels on rivers and waterways.


The crew prepares to pass through another lock system.


While onboard the Draken Harald Harfagre, crewmembers learn more about traditional Viking sailing techniques.
