Ke Kula ʻo Kamehameha will close all campuses, preschools and resource centers across the pae ʻāina on Monday, Aug. 17, 2026, due to impacts from Tropical Storm Lala. Kawaiahaʻo Plaza will remain open.

We will continue to assess conditions and prepare our campuses, preschools, and offices with the goal of safely reopening Tuesday. The safety and well-being of our haumāna, ʻohana, and staff will continue to guide our decisions. Individual campuses, preschools, and office sites will communicate any changes to operations directly with their communities. KS staff will receive further guidance from their respective supervisors regarding work arrangements for tomorrow.

Mahalo for your aloha, understanding, and patience as we navigate the remaining impacts of the storm together. Please continue to stay informed through news and weather sources, and mālama your ʻohana, one another, our communities, and those who may be especially vulnerable. Please keep those who have already been affected by the storm in your pule. Let us remain vigilant and stay safe.
