In the Spring of 2018, a group of select students formed Team ʻŌpeʻapeʻa. The objective of Team ʻŌpeʻapeʻa is to expose people to bat research and create experiences that elevate connections to the ʻaina and each other. On July 25, Team ʻŌpeʻapeʻa attended the Hawaiʻi Conservation Conference on Oʻahu, and shared an experiment that measured the effect of artificial light on bat activity. Pictured is Team ʻŌpeʻapeʻa in action at the HCC Conference in Oʻahu. You can also scan the QR code to visit Team ʻŌpeʻapeʻa’s official website.
