Ke Kula ʻo Kamehameha Kapālama and our preschools and offices on Oʻahu will be closed tomorrow, April 10, 2026, due to storm conditions. This decision is intended to provide for the safety of our haumāna, ʻohana, and employees, and follows city and state government closures. Oʻahu staff will hear from their respective leader with further guidance regarding work situations for tomorrow.
All other campuses, preschool sites, and offices on Kauaʻi, Maui Nui, and Hawaiʻi Island will remain open tomorrow, April 10, 2026. Should weather conditions change, campuses, preschools, and office sites will communicate any operational updates directly with their communities.
We will continue to closely track conditions on Maui Nui and will make a determination regarding any potential closures early tomorrow morning, based on evolving weather conditions and in alignment with guidance from government and emergency officials. Please continue to monitor our communications for the latest updates.
Rainy conditions and flood risks persist across the state, and the wet weather could extend into the weekend. We are also closely monitoring the National Weather Service’s Ashfall Warning in effect through midnight on Thursday for parts of Hawaiʻi Island due to ash, Pele’s hair, and tephra from the Kīlauea eruption.
Please continue to mālama your ʻohana and community, and check trusted sources for weather updates.
Ke aloha nō.
