Severe weather alert: Kona storm update #5

March 15, 2026

Aloha mai kākou,

Offices across the pae ʻāina for Ke Kula ‘o Kamehameha will reopen tomorrow, Monday, March 16, 2026. KS campuses and preschools will continue normal Spring Break operations, with haumāna and kumu away from classes.

We mahalo our haumāna, ʻohana and staff for your patience, flexibility and care for one another as the recent Kona storm moved through our islands. We also recognize that many in our communities experienced severe damage and other impacts from the weather, and we extend our deepest aloha to all who have been affected.

Individual campuses and sites will share any specific updates regarding activities, events or programs scheduled this week directly with their stakeholders.

Mahalo for your understanding and for the support you have shown your ʻohana and communities during this time. Please continue to remain attentive to any remaining weather advisories and travel safely as our campuses and offices reopen.

E mālama pono.
