Please be safe and look out for updates as we weather this winter storm.

School closed tomorrow for instruction, practices, and activities

Feb. 8, 2026

With the severe weather anticipated from this winter storm and direction received by Governor Green, in an abundance of caution, we have decided to follow suit and close our campus for any instruction, activities or athletic practices on Monday, February 9, 2026.

The exception will be for essential workers who are needed to assess any damage and to be ready to open school on Tuesday if we are able to do so. Supervisors will notify these workers directly on instructions of when to report.

We made this decision with information we have received from Hawaiʻi County Civil Defense and enterprise guidance for KS worksites island wide. We do anticipate wet weather and heavy wind conditions will continue through tonight and tomorrow. For the safety of our kauhale, we recommend staying indoors, off the roads, and safe from any extreme weather conditions.

We do expect to be able to return to normal campus operations on Tuesday. Look out for more information at a later time for activities scheduled to happen tomorrow that will need to be re-scheduled.
