As you may have heard, Kamehameha Schools Maui Po‘o Kula (Head of School) Lee Ann DeLima passed away Saturday, Nov. 7, surrounded by her loving ʻohana.

To give family, friends and colleagues on Oʻahu an opportunity to bid DeLima “Ā hui hou,” a celebration of life service has been set.

MESSAGES OF CONDOLENCE
Students of KS Maui’s Ka Leo o Nā Koa posted a story to their online newspaper, entitled “In Memoriam: Poʻo Kula Lee Ann DeLima” encouraging others to share memories, messages and well wishes. To see the story, sentiments, and to add comments of your own, visit Ka Leo o Nā Koa.

DeLima is a 1977 Kamehameha Schools graduate. She was the po‘o kula at KS Maui since 2006 and saw KSM’s first 10 senior classes graduate.

She began her KS Maui career in October 1999 as vice principal and counselor. She was appointed interim K-8 principal in September 2001, then middle school principal in September 2004. She also served as an on-island instructor for the Chaminade Master’s program offered to KS Maui faculty during the school year 2005-2006.

Prior to joining KS, she was vice principal at Lāhainaluna High School.


Delima and KSM Chaplain Kalani Wong accompany students to Mauna ʻAla, the final resting place of Princess Pauahi.


Retired KSK Head of School Dr. Michael Chun shares memories of Delima at a Nov. 20 memorial service on Maui. Many KSM alumni flew in for the event which was also attended by KS employees, retirees and friends.
